Destination: 'Paxton, McLaren Vale’

Estalished in 1979, Paxton is a family owned McLaren Vale wine company. Founder David Paxton built the company over three decades as a vineyard management business. In 2000 Paxton released the first wine under their own label.

David’s son Michael is now winemaker, and it is a sign of Paxton’s commitment to their vineyards, that the General Manager is also their head viticulturist, Toby Bekkers. Under Toby’s guidance Paxton have converted over 200 hectares to biodynamic farming practices, and strongly encourage their vineyard management clients to seek “green” alternatives to using synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

Your visit:

A regional overview presented by Toby Bekkers, followed by a visit to the 100 year old Thomas Block vineyard, calling in to see their bee hives and bat boxes en route back to the biodynamic garden, followed by a range
