Destination: ‘Mac Forbes, Yarra Valley’



Mac first donned the winery overalls at 19 years of age when he worked a vintage in France. He studied winemaking at Roseworthy Collage and went on to work at iconic Yarra Valley winery Mount Mary. He has also lived and worked in Austria, where he developed his passion for Riesling, Gruner and Blaufrankish, the latter of which he has recently planted in two sites in the Yarra. Mac produces a pioneering range of single vineyard Pinot Noirs that reflect the sub-regional terroir of the Yarra Valley and his desire to produce elegant, unforced wines of natural balance and minerality.
